YSE-MN is a collaboration of youth-serving nonprofit organizations using a Youth Social Entrepreneurship (YSE) models as a way to support youth ages 14-24 in low-income or underrepresented communities. YSE programs integrate positive youth development, community engagement, and social entrepreneurship. Nonprofits with YSE enterprises offer youth their first wage-earning jobs, workforce readiness skills, and encourage them to take a variety of business and community leadership positions.
Over the past 9 years and with the help of the Sundance Family Foundation and others, these nonprofits are producing evidence-based data, providing the soft and hard workplace readiness skills, and developing bridges to new career opportunities.
